Part 41: New Parm NPC Chatter 6

Welcome back! Still dealing with New Parm NPCs.



: It's a bit of a surprise, but it seems OK with Feena. We should celebrate!

: Look, this is no joke! We have to rescue Feena!

: Huh? What are you going to do? Kidnap Feena? You're quite a guy! Two lovers who cannot be stopped by anyone.... how romantic! ♥

: No, it's not like that. Stop with the nonsense! We've got to hurry to get Feena!

: Good luck! ♥ Go visit Pakon and give him what he's got coming.

: I'm so happy Feena is getting married. Besides thanking her for her help I'd like to offer my congratulations. When my daughter was being attacked by monsters, Feena risked her own life to rescue her. When I came running to the scene, the monsters were gone. Feena had chased them all away. She had injured her left hand, but she just said "it's nothing unusual", even though it must have hurt. Well, I'd better start getting ready. Time for thanks and congratulations!

Oh, sure, Justin, you let this guy ramble off his whole life's story, but when that other chick was excited about you rescuing Feena you shush her.





: Hey, have you heard? Pakon and Feena are finally getting married! Where will they go on their honeymoon? Maybe the End of the World! Wait. That's too far. They could get lost in the Misty Forest. Someplace closer, perhaps? Like the Dom Ruins. Yeah, that's it. No, they're all too risky for Pakon.

: You can say that again. For Pakon....

: What am I saying! I've got to go rescue Feena!

: So it is only fitting that Pakon should marry our beloved Feena. Pakon's marriage to her would help make the Society even more successful. He came up with so many ways to help the Society. Pakon's quite a man.

: I came back from a tour just for this wedding. The whole town's busy getting ready. ♪ It's the big event--Pakon and Feena's wedding! Definitely not to be missed! ♪

: This is no joke! I won't let Pakon marry Feena!

: It's so good to see everyone busy. ♪ I can't wait to see how Feena looks in her wedding gown!

: Feena is really marrying that dude Pakon? Why is she marrying someone like him?

: Because Pakon kidnapped Feena and is forcing her to marry him! I'll rescue her, that's for sure!

: I don't understand Feena, either. Such a cute girl like her, marrying a jerk like Pakon. Oops, scratch that.



At least they give a reason why you can't just barge on in through the front door.

: Oh, I'd love to see how Feena looks in her wedding gown. If only I could get an invitation and join the crowd. Maybe I could sneak in through the storeroom in the back.

: What? There's a storeroom there?



: So, are you a friend of Feena's or Pakon's?

: Actually, I don't know either of them. But I can hardly pass up this opportunity to celebrate. So, what special treats shall I make? This is a wedding, after all. Not some cheap little party.



: Let's eat, drink, sing, and party till dawn!

: Sure, let's party!

: I'd love to join the fun, but I have to rescue Feena!

: Time to celebrate.... ♪ Let's go to the church and join the party. ♪



: What's left is the Misty Forest and the End of the World, it seems. Only the dangerous spots are left.

: Yeah, that's why Feena has stopped going on adventures!

: Well, anyway, it's a joyous occasion. We get to have a good, long party! ♪

: Hey, let's celebrate! I just love a good, noisy wedding party! You know what's just right for this occasion? "Phantom Mist" water! Wanna try some! Come on, it's free!

: No... no thanks. Not for me. You know, I just want to get to Feena as soon as I can.





Yeah, they'll take any excuse to party in New Parm.

: Have you heard? They say that Adventurers Society's President Pakon is getting married! And to Feena, of all people! Naturally, everyone is celebrating and sending congratulations.

: Feena would never marry someone like Pakon!

: So you say, but the whole town is bustling, getting ready for the big wedding. It's sure hard to believe, but I guess Feena must actually like that type of guy.



: I sure would love to go along. I'll bet it's someplace wonderful.

: You gotta be kidding! Feena's not going on a honeymoon trip. She's going on an adventure with me!

: The End of the World is shrouded in mist. If indeed such a place exists. I'd want to go along, too.



Funnily enough, this guy's dialog changes here, despite not being about the wedding.

: None of them are in New Parm, but a few people got caught by bad doctors elsewhere. Too bad. Long ago, when I had a cold, the doctor treated me with holy water. And then my cold got much worse! I've still got a grudge against him. So, that's why I've never been to see a doctor since then! Stay away from doctors--none of them are very good.

: So if Feena is marrying Pakon, I'm sure it's because she's very happy to have him for a husband.

: Look, Feena is NOT interested in marrying Pakon!

: That's right! That's right! Justin knows what he's saying!

: Really? But I think those two would make such a nice couple.



: I sure do wish the best for Feena. I really want her to be happy. Maybe it's just my imagination, but Feena doesn't seem to be enjoying this whole thing very much.

: No, it's not your imagination! Hurry up, Sue!

: The wedding will be held soon. Look the whole town is celebrating. But where's Feena?



: but when I proposed building a canal, Pakon wasn't interested in laying down any money. I can't imagine how a bride would feel marrying a guy like Pakon.

: Have you heard? Feena is getting married! I've always thought of her as my own daughter, so I'm especially happy! But... I wonder who she's marrying?

: Pakon! It's Pakon! But look, he's kidnapping Feena and forcing her to marry him!

: What?! Really? You must be joking. After all, she did pick Pakon....

: No, you don't understand! Feena is being abducted by him!

: Well, it's really none of my business who she marries. As long as Feena is happy.

: Oh, forget it. She's totally clueless.

: You know, Feena and Pakon should not get married. Sherry read their horoscopes. Pakon was born under Virgo, right? And Feena was born under Libra. Marriage between a male Virgo and a female Libra invites great misfortune. It's all there in the horoscopes. That's why Sherry said the wedding between Feena and Pakon should be called off!

Looks like we still have some time to hit up the inside NPCs.



: Don't believe those vicious rumors! Feena is definitely NOT going to marry that clown.

: That's what I thought. Feena wants to remain active as an adventurer, right? I didn't think she'd do such a thing. But I was a little concerned about it. They say that women can really change when they're in love.

: I heard that Feena's getting married. Is it true?

: No, it's not at all true! That's just a rumor--a false rumor! That's just a stinkin' lie!

: We're rather worried about what we would do if Feena were to get married and retire from adventuring. Thanks for the good news. It sets our minds at ease.

You know who might help in this situation? The town guard.



: That's outrageous! Who is he? Where is he? We'll hang him at once!

: His name's Pakon. He's the President of the Adventurers Society!

: Oh! I suddenly got a headache! I can't see or hear anything. You see, the Society pays our salary! Aggh! My headache's getting worse. I... I can't see anything. Can't hear anything, either.

Well that was a waste of time.



:stonk: Stranger danger!



: That Gauss is tough. After all, he's the President of the Adventurers Society. You gotta gather all your strength. That Gauss is so string, I don't think anyone could ever beat him and take Lilly!

You know, I can't decide if I'd like a game where you played through the lives of Lilly and Justin's Dad, or if it would just be self-referential drivel. Either way, I bet Java be a party member.

Also: self-sufficient adventuress, first met on a boat crossing to the New Continent, who has to be taken back from the President of the Adventurers Society and voiced by Angela Anderson. Proficiency in using trays as a weapon aside, Feena might as well be Lilly.



: I'm worried that Miss Sherry will want to get married, too.



: No, it's not business, but I've got to go rescue Feena!

: Oh, no! You delivered to the wrong person! Better get her back, quickly!

Clara has no new dialog yet.



: I don't think he's a big shot yet.

: But since he's such a powerful guy here, we have to be careful. Don't worry about her. She can rescue herself, I think.

Seriously, out of everyone we can talk to, this is the only guy who thinks that Feena is good enough to escape on her own?

: Pakon's getting married, huh? Looks like he finally won Feena's heart.

: No he didn't! He's forcing her to marry him!

: Huh? Really?! Well, we've gotta stop him! Ahh! That... that hurts! Ou! Ooo Ouch! That's s-so strange! Why would my stomach start hurting now? If it weren't for this stomachache, I'd help you.

Jeez, even the guy who likes Pakon does more to help us than most of the townspeople.

... yes, "making up an excuse to sit out and do nothing" is more than what most of the people do.



: But I had no idea Feena was interested in that Pakon fellow. I wonder how they became so involved with each other all of a sudden. It's a mystery.



: Fe-Feena couldn't be in love with Pakon, could she?





This little bit here gives her more characterization than all of her required dialog.
